The last game of the Round 1 of Toyota Mekong Club Championship 2016 will be held on 27th December 2016. Lao Premier League champion, Lanexang United FC and Myanmar National League champion, Yadanarbon FC, had the pre-match press conference on 26th December 2016 at Shwe Ye Mon Hotel in Mandalay, Myanmar with the officials and captains from both the teams.
Even if they only manage to get a draw from tomorrow’s match, Lanexang United FC still have a right to go to the next step. “We will play more defensively and try to shoot when we get a chance”, said Leonardo Vitorino, head coach of Lanexang United FC.
Leonardo Vitorino also added, “This is the first international tournament for our club. So we have prepared to play our best for Laos. Although our team doesn’t have superstar players, our teamwork is our superstar. But Yadanarbon FC is a good attacking football team. They possess good strikers and they are also good at defending”.
Argzim Redzovic, Captain of Lanexang United FC said, “Tomorrow’s game is important for our club. We want everyone to see the level of Laos football. From this tournament, we can gain good experience to be prepared for the AFC Cup. Our team goal is to get to the final and play against Buriram United FC of Thailand”.
Meanwhile, since Yadanarbon FC had a draw with Vietnam’s SHB Da Nang FC in the second match of Round 1, they must win tomorrow’s match in order to advance to the semi-final.
“Our squad list may be changed just by one player as compared to the squad list of the last game. We will play with our best line up and also use all of four foreign players. We have prepared very well to win and go to the semi-final”, explained U Aung Kyaw Moe, team manager of Yadanarbon FC.
Yadanarbon FC captain, Ye Ko Oo said, “We will surely try to win as we can go to the next step only if we win. Our fans only accept the winning results, and if not, we will have to face the pressure of our fans. So we will try our best to win this match”.
